Terms of use
Last updated: 23 October 2026
Koti is in beta. These terms will be updated before Koti is published on the App Store and Google Play. We will tell you in the app about any significant change.
These terms apply when you use the Koti app and koti.devnart.com. By using Koti you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Koti. How we handle your data is described in the privacy policy.
What Koti is
Koti helps people who live together record shared expenses, split them and see who owes whom. Koti does not move money. It is not a bank or a payment service: payments between members happen outside the app, and Koti only records them.
The beta
Koti is free during the beta. Features may change, be added or be removed, and the service may sometimes be unavailable. If we ever introduce paid features, we will tell you before anything is charged.
Your account
You sign in with Apple or Google and are responsible for what happens under your account. Use your real name or a name your housemates will recognise. You can belong to one home at a time.
Your content
Expenses, notes and receipt photos you add remain yours. You allow us to store them and show them to the members of your home, which is needed to run Koti. Only add receipts and information you have the right to share with your housemates.
Amounts and receipt scanning
Receipt scanning reads photos automatically and can make mistakes. Check the amounts and splits before you save them. Balances in Koti are only as accurate as what members enter, and settling up is between you and your housemates.
Fair use
Don’t use Koti for anything illegal, to harass anyone, to upload content that isn’t yours to share, or to try to access other homes’ data, overload the service or get around its limits.
Leaving and deleting your account
You can leave a home once your balance in it is zero. You can ask us to delete your account at any time, as described in the privacy policy. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.
No warranty
Koti is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We do our best to keep it accurate, secure and available, but we can’t guarantee it will be error-free or uninterrupted.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, for disagreements between housemates, or for losses caused by amounts entered or read incorrectly. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.
Changes
We may update these terms. We will show the new date at the top and let you know in the app about significant changes. If you keep using Koti after a change, the new terms apply.
Applicable law
These terms are governed by the laws of Morocco, without affecting mandatory consumer protections in the country where you live.
